At four months old, our client had surgery to correct for Hirschsprung’s disease, a condition caused by a lack of nerve endings in the intestinal tract. Yet during surgery, his physician failed to adhere to the standard of care, losing track of his work during the procedure and quite literally pulling so much of the patient’s intestine out of his body that they were unable to replace it.
