The U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey issued an opinion yesterday in favor of our client, a nine-year-old child whose eyelid was punctured by an unsafe display hook at a retail store. As a result of this painful injury, she now suffers from permanent Ptosis, also known as eyelid drooping.
The defendants in the case, a local discount retailer, filed a motion for summary judgment that would have dismissed the case in favor of the retailer. However, the court denied this motion, allowing us to move forward in our pursuit of justice for this young child and her family.
